The Faraway House Estate lies 20 km over the
mountains due East from South Africa's Food and Wine Capital - Franschhoek. The farm gate is
6 km North of the picturesque town of Villiersdorp on the
R43
road which
runs from Hermanus to Worcester. Faraway House is the
most northerly wine farm in the Overberg Wine District. Wine
grapes
are grown at altitudes between 460 and 550 metres (1380 – 1800
feet) which is why we named our wines “High Overberg”.
We also grow several varieties of figs, pomegranates
and olives as well as a variety of Mediterranean vegetables.
